What to Do There

Trekking to the Inner Sanctuary

If you’re into serious adventure, the 5-day trek to the inner sanctuary is unforgettable. Starting from Lata village (25 km from Joshimath), you’ll pass through thick forests, glacial streams, high meadows, and steep gorges. It’s not for beginners, but the views are worth every step.

Valley of Flowers

Just a short trip from Nanda Devi, the Valley of Flowers is another must-see. During the rainy season, it transforms into a vibrant field covered in rare and exotic blossoms. Many travelers do both treks in one trip.

Wildlife Watching

The park is home to some amazing Himalayan creatures. You might spot snow leopards, musk deer, bharal (blue sheep), Himalayan tahr, and both black and brown bears. Birdwatchers will love it too—over 100 bird species call this place home.

Scenic Highlights

Expect stunning views everywhere you look—from the Rishi Ganga Gorge to hanging glaciers, misty waterfalls, and thick alpine woods. It feels wild, untouched, and completely remote.
